Hard Work and Smart Thinking Led Sam Foti to the Top
Some might try to claim that success is in the blood or try to ignore the achievements of self made men. Excuses like these don’t hold up in real life, however. While Samuel J. Foti comes from a family where his father saw success running the Hose Masters, Inc. family business, it was more than inherited or learned skill that took him to the top. Sam knew from an early age that he would have to work hard and that is precisely what lead him straight up the ladder of success. He took every opportunity to better himself from his beginning studies at the Wharton School of Business to his Masters degree in Finance and Investments that he earned from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Arts and Science. When the chance to help his father came along, Sam jumped on it and instituted the practices that would help make Hose Masters a leader in the metal hose manufacturing industry. He acted as President for the company, but his work didn’t stop there, either.
After seeing the rich possibility that lay in the life insurance business, he got involved in a variety of opportunities at companies from Metropolitan Life to the MONY Life Insurance company which he would one day come to helm. Having been a licensed underwriter since 1977, Sam Foti knows the life insurance business, but even beyond this he understands the principles of sound business in a way that few successful men really do. He knows that it is more than simply leading a company to greatness, it is also about giving back. He has taken an approach that allows him to not only create profits for himself, but to act as a Venture Capitalist and give back to the world around him by supporting business ideas he knows will succeed.
