Why Free Advertising Rarely Works
The Internet is full of resources that allow you to advertise in free directories, on websites, or on the official site of a newspaper or community page. While some of these can work quite well as they become popular enough to draw attention (think of Craigslist, for example), quite often they will not work in your favor. This is especially true if you run a business, or offer some kind of service.
When you are a professional you are expected to behave in a professional manner. When looking at marketing and advertising you should appear official, and using free directories and pages just doesn’t do that. While you should feel free to use there resources, you should also set aside some money to invest in professional and attractive advertising based on an actual marketing campaign.
This doesn’t mean you have to hire a team to create something for you, but it helps. There are plenty of marketing solutions companies that will offer you a reasonable rate to create a full marketing campaign to boost profits. This may be done using advertising, site design, or even SEO and link baiting. They will be able to come up with something much better than a directory that will never be seen.
