I know that many people might think that being a pizza boy is not a glamorous career, but I beg to differ. Instead of being stuck behind a desk each and every day doing a tedious job, I get to drive around in my car and see a different part of the city each day. It is this variety that makes working as a pizza delivery driver a great choice for me.
But depending on the day, my work can be slow as well. I recently started working in the afternoons and depending on the day of the week, it is either busy, or it isn’t. Now, I don’t mind when it does slow down, but today has been particularly painful. I only had one delivery to a cord blood company and that was it. Not only does it mean that I make very little for tips, but it makes for a long day.
Thankfully it is usually a lot busier than today and there have been very few days where I actually wanted to cry because I was so bored. Hopefully things will speed up as it gets closer to the weekend – the less slow days like today, the better.
Different Types Of Diesel Filters
Diesel particulate filters have really changed the way we view diesel based engines and have, also, ensured that the emissions from these engines are far lower than they were in previous years meaning a much healthier and better environment for us all to live in. Many government’s now insist that these filters be attached to every new diesel based vehicle such is their beneficial and health related nature.
There is not just one filter, however, that acts for the purpose of DPF removal, there are, in fact, several different variants of the diesel filter that are used in different circumstances. Firstly we have the Cordierite filters that are a ceramic based filter and are the most inexpensive type to use. They are very effective however, although they do suffer from a low melting point meaning that, during filter regeneration, they can become damaged and need replaced.
Next we have the Ceramic Fibre filters that are great for being shaped to fit any device or design and they also benefit greatly from having a lower back pressure which gives them a particulate removal average of 95+%. The Silicon Carbide Wall Flow filters are, after the Cordierite ones, the second most commonly seen filter type. They have an advantage over the Cordierite filters by being able to sustain more heat and have a higher melting point although they tend not to be as stable or reliable as the latter. Lastly we have the Metal Fibre Flow Through diesel filters and, as they are metal based, have the option to pass through an electrical current. They are usually the most expensive type of filters used for diesel particulate removal however are generally considered to be the most reliable and effective when it comes to cutting down on the emissions that are expelled from diesel based engines.
Expand Into The Manufacturing Industry
Distributors and retail companies can easily segue into the manufacturing industry because they already have a catalog of eager buyers. You may have no practical production experience, but you can make the transition smoothly when you invest in the right equipment. Contrary to popular belief, all factories are not staffed by thousands of workers. You can begin your manufacturing venture with the same staff that you have been working with for years, provided that they are willing to make the switch and agree to get the proper training.
You will need to find suppliers before you can even think about investing into manufacturing equipment. If you can locate a local company that sells the supplies that you need think about setting up a mutually beneficial business relationship. Also, make sure that an efficient conveyor system is in place so that the products that you manufacture can be inspected and packed in one swift motion. Having an assembly line in place will also help your workers to maintain production levels.
The last step in the manufacturing process will be the delivery of your goods. You may need to sell your wares to many different companies in the beginning, but if you can hold out until you get one large contract it will be well worth the additional effort. Your staff might be able to manually label and pack your products in the beginning, but eventually you will want to automate the process. There are many different kinds of equipment that will automatically print and apply all of your labels where necessary. Make sure that you are interested in manufacturing a product that there is a high demand for and it will be easy for you to locate high paying customers. Be prepared for the unexpected as your company goes through this important change.

Far too many businesses prematurely botch potential deals by jumping right into the meat and potatoes of the pitch. You don’t want to waste the time of prospects by engaging in idle chit chat, however, if you only appear to want to take their money, you will get far less positive responses. Imagine how you would feel if a stranger called you one day, told you all about their great product and then asked for your credit card number in the span of two minutes? It would have to be the deal of a lifetime for you to even be remotely interested, and if you are honest with yourself, you know that most businesses are selling products that most people can live without. By contacting potential customers a few times while entertaining all of their questions and concerns first, you can foster a good relationship with them that will make them ask you about what you have for sale before you can get into your pitch.
In the marketing world, it is referred to as ‘warming up’ your leads, but the average business owner just calls it customer service. You can start out by purchasing some pharmacy leads and sending out a carefully worded mailer. Some of the leads will call you back, but follow up with everyone on your list within a week of sending the letters. Ask if they have any questions, then give a brief summary of the history of your company as well as your products and services. The next call should consist of a short personalized greeting, then you can go on to make a full pitch. This approach certainly won’t get everyone to make a purchase, but a just a few more interactions with prospects can turn them into lifetime customers.
